Ever since childhood I've felt the realm of spirit calling and have been mesmerized by the power of its sound and light!

This particularly occurred when hearing the exquisite sounds of words as waves of light, whenever people spoke. They appeared to me as wonderful prayers, or as spell invocations... and when I discovered the magic and metaphor of the world’s great poets in my teens, poets like: Shakespeare, Blake, Byron, Coleridge, Shelley, and Keats I was literally transported into ecstasy by the word music. What I mean by this is that beautiful poetry has always deeply resonated within my being, providing inspiration, closeness to the Divine, a healing of frayed emotions, and an opening to the Angelic Portals of the mystical otherworldly realm of spirit.

Evolving beyond early sensory confusion I discovered that I am a synesthete. Synesthetes experience unique sensory crossovers, and in my experience, this meant that I saw sound as light... words were literally light forms that flowed before me, and I found it impossible to read. However, after a period of mutism I began to speak again, and at ten years of age, my sacred Mother had the brilliant idea of placing me into a Church Choir, and I suddenly began to read through sacred song. I literally floated on the light flow of the breath and the melodies of the music as one, for the sounds of the words and the lights in the notes were felt deeply in my soul... and a huge window opened within my consciousness.

All of this was a long time ago, for my professional life has extended over the last forty-six years... having initially trained as an Actor/Teacher specializing in Voice & Theatre Studies, I then become an Actor throughout the Repertory Theatres of the UK... soaring on the currents of the rich voices that existed then, for this was a time when many Theatres burgeoned throughout the United Kingdom, allowing we Actors to learn how to create ‘spell’ for our audiences.
